Marie Pantina

Marie Pantina is an exciting new addition to the faculty of the Suzuki Strings of Austin.  Marie recently relocated to Austin from Atlanta, GA where she taught Suzuki cello lessons and group classes around metro Atlanta.   She received her Bachelor’s of Music in cello performance from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she studied with Martha Gerschefski and Pamela Devenport. She also completed a two-year Suzuki cello pedagogy program with Pamela Devenport in addition to various short-term Suzuki teacher training programs. Marie is currently a graduate student in Music and Human Learning at the University of Texas at Austin. As such, Marie is currently on the faculty at the University of Texas String Project as a cello private lesson and group class teacher as well as hold the position of Preschool Coordinator. Marie also teaches after-school private cello lessons at University of Texas Elementary School as part of a partnership program with String Project. While in Atlanta, Marie maintained an active private studio and taught private lessons, group classes, technique classes, cello ensembles and held sectionals and orchestral rehearsals at various schools, such as the Waldorf School of Atlanta, Whitefield Academy and the Atlanta International School. In addition to her active teaching schedule, Marieperformed frequently in Atlanta and the Southeast as a freelance musician. She is a member of the American String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas and is a registered Suzuki cello teacher.
